    SCI, the inventor of the High Pressure Composite Cylinder, now offers their top quality cylinders factory direct. This can mean substantial savings over breathing apparatus manufacturer's cylinders. It's possible SCI cylinders are already in your department. SCI has manufactured cylinders for almost every manufacturer of SCBA.

    In 1976, Structural Composites Industries became the world's first producer of DOT approved composite cylinders for commercial, military, marine, and aerospace applications. With over 100 different models designed and qualified at pressures up to 10,000 psi, chances are very good we have a lightweight cylinder to meet your needs.

    Your current valve assemblies can be re-used on SCI cylinders. Additionally, SCI can deliver the bottles custom fitted with cylinder valve assemblies from any manufacturer, new or refurbished.

    SCI also supplies cylinders for cascade systems, mobile air and trailer units, as well as large breathing air cylinders for aerial units.

    The majority of SCI's cylinders begin with precision aluminum liners which are then wrapped with either fiberglass, carbon, Kevlar or other aramid fibers in an epoxy matrix. The cylinders are then cured, individually pressure tested by 3rd Party representatives of the US Department of Transportation, and then coated per customer specifications with one or more of the many available colors.
